Huck Finn Reader Responce 2

Tom Sawyer is Huck’s best friend. Them two are like brothers they go on adventures together, start clubs together it like they’re joined at the hip. In the first chapter when Huck was escaping form Widow Douglas standing right there waiting on him. To my knowledge Huck didn’t tell him to come and meet him Tom just knew. Tom is also an clever boy when him and Huck had went back while they were in the woods to get three candles Tom had laid a five cent piece on the table so that had showed they paid. Tom is just a kid who wants to have fun before him and Huck had left Tom had went back to tie Jim to the tree. “Now we’ll start this band of robber and call it Tom Sawyer’s Gang. Everybody that wants to join has got to take an oath, and write his name in blood.” (chap 2, page 5, par 4)

Now Widow Douglas is just a lady who husband had died and she needs that closure so she has Huck to live with her. While Huck was living with Widow Douglas it was very hard because Widow Douglas had set some rules down and Huck just didn’t like them but he learned how to deal with them. Widow Douglas she seems like a good hearted women she let a complete stranger live with her, she gave him clothes to where, food to eat, and basically a roof over his head. She also seems like a Christian women before her and Tom is about to eat she lowers her head and says a prayer. She teaches Tom about Moses an the Bulrushes. “Don’t put your feet there, Huckleberry; and don’t scrunch up like that.” “Don’t gap and stretch like that, Huckleberry-why don’t you try to behave. (chap 1, page 2, par 3)

Pap is Huckleberry’s father. Pap is just a non supportive father who is nothing but a drunk. When he had found out that Huck had got a hold of all that money that’s when he decided to come back into Huck’s life. He’s the type of person that is two faced he’s a mean man while he is sober and while he is drunk he is a very mean un thoughtful human being. Pap is also a man who seems like he is not grateful he doesn’t even have any respect for the Widow Douglas after she took his son in and fed, clothe, and even loved him. Pap will even turn his son in for a bottle of liquor. “The widow, hey?- and who told the widow she could put her shovel about a thing that ain’t none of her business?” (chap 5, page 15, par 1)

Jim is the Widow Douglas’s slave. Obviously he’s an African American in the south. He is an man who has pride. Jim is also a man who is quite low on his knowledge, and he speaks in a country dialect. Jim is a slave who is about in his late thirties and early forties who has a mind of a old man. Later on in the story Jim and Huck become some what of good friends who can rely on each others. Jim is a African American who has been to New Orleans. By knowing him you can tell that he has an great imagination by the stories he tells and by the stuff he says. He's very super stitious at that. "Well, dey's reasons. But you wouldn't tell on meef I 'uz to tell you, would you, Huck?" (chap8 , page32 ,par7 )

Huck is influenced by Tom Sawyer in kind of a negative and positive way the negative way is by Tom being Huck's best friend he could presure Huck into doing what ever also Huck thinks that Tom is this big and bad adventurer so that just makes Huck do wat ever. Also Tom can use his friend ship in a good positive way he could guide Huck out of doing bad. Pap has absolutely no positive effect on Huck probably he could teach Huck to be a survior. Negative effct is that his attitude to Huck that can drive Huck away and cause him to get into trouble. Jim has an positive effect on Huck by him being the adult he can also guide Huck. Negative effect is that he can make Huck do bad what by him havin that upper habd. Widow Douglas positive effect would be to have her Christian ways grow on Huck. Negative way is for her to also push and make Huck do bad.
